White River Township FD Strawberry Fest
What began 25 years ago as a small one-day community event has grown into a major two-day event with food, fireworks, and emergency and safety demonstrations. The festival is held every year at the Sugar Grove Elementary School on the corner of Berry Road and Smith Valley Road in Greenwood. This year’s highlights include a display of the department’s apparatus, fireworks Saturday evening, vehicle extrication demonstration with the Indiana University Health Life Line helicopter, and much more. In addition to strawberry shortcakes, the WRTFD firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and staff will be selling hamburgers, hotdogs, corn, rib-eye sandwiches, and more. Food and drinks are available for purchase with cash. All events are free. More information can be found on WRTFD's website: www.wrtfd.org.
Festival Hours: Friday, June 9th starting at 12 pm - 10pm and Saturday, June 10th from 9 am - 10:30 pm. See their poster below.
Members of the Mid-State Amateur Radio Club participate every year on Saturday of the event with an amateur radio demonstration station for the public to stop by and find out about amateur radio. Check us out!
