The next Mid-State Amateur Radio Club Parks On The Air (POTA) operating event will be Saturday, July 18 at Driftwood State Fishing Lake, US-13100. We plan to set up at 1:00 PM and be on the air shortly thereafter with members’ HF and VHF/UHF stations for simplex contacts. We’ll be in the large parking area on the road to the left of the entrance. (Please register at the DNR kiosk as you arrive.)
If you have heard of the POTA program, but have not been able to take part, this is your chance! Even if you’re not licensed for HF, there will be control operators on site to help get you on the air.
As usual, we will be using the club’s callsign, W9MID, but if you’re registered with the POTA system, you will also get credit for the QSOs you make. So, if you’re new to HF or POTA, or even if you’re an experienced operator, stop by on July 18 after our morning monthly meeting.
This event is open to everyone; YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF MARC to attend. Even if you don’t want to operate, stop by to chat.
