“The February display will focus around the book, “My Sisters Telegraphic,” leading to women’s role in providing messaging during the industrial age, including the United States’ involvement in the civil war and beyond. Another portion of the display will feature a rendition of the Confederate siege of Corydon, IN and Morgan’s raid through southern Indiana as the only civil war battle occurring in Indiana, during July of 1863.  General John Hunt Morgan led a raid across Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, intended as a diversion for Confederate forces leading to his capture by Union forces in Ohio.  My display will include period telegraph equipment and stories about the raid and bits of history about women at work during the nineteenth century’s industrial age.”
