Hello everyone and thank you for your interest in being a part of the MARC’s new Weather Interest Group. As of this writing there will be 13 of us participating in the first Webex call, which I am planning to schedule for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25. In preparation for that first session there are a few things that I would please ask you to do.
1. To participate in our sessions you will each need to download the WebEx app and sign up for a free account. Downloads are available for Apple, Android, Google, and Microsoft devices. Information about downloading and using Webex can be found at https://help.webex.com/en-us/getting-started. Options are available for testing your device’s mic and camera.
2. I would like to ask each of you to think about what interests you about the weather and what drew you to our new group. Also, I would like for you to think about the kinds of topics that you would like to see us discuss as we go forward with the group. Whether you are just getting started with an interest in weather; consider yourself an enthusiast; want to learn more about severe weather development, storm spotting, Skywarn; or any other topic, you are welcome here! Let’s plan on sharing our interests and offering our suggestions at the Sept. 25 meeting.
In the next week, watch for an invite from me to participate in the Webex call on 9/25. It will contain the link that you will need to connect with us for the event. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
