An “Elmer” is the nickname in ham radio referring to a fellow ham who becomes a teacher, mentor, guide and friend to a (generally) younger or less experienced operator in some area of our hobby. If you are looking for help and need an Elmer to help guide your way, use the table below.
In the first column, find a topic (and links) that you need advice on and note the Elmer number(s) in the second column. To the right, find the Elmers by the numbers for reference and get in touch with them by sending an email to the Elmer Board. Your request will g to all the Elmers, but you can direct your inquiry to a specific ham. Also, check out the Officers & Coordinator Contacts list under the Welcome to MARC tab.
Reach out! Our Elmers, the glue that holds Amateur Radio together, are committed to helping, so please don’t hesitate.
The links in the Areas of Interest column will take you to other areas of our MARC website for more on that topic.
And be sure to visit the For The New Ham page (link below) under the RESOURCES tab elsewhere on this website, as well as other topic categories that may interest you.
Send an email to the MARC Elmers: elmerboard@midstatehams.org
